Required at the time of application:
- New Post-Graduate Midwifery Fellowship: Within 24 months of graduation from an accredited nurse-midwifery education program. Applicants who graduated more than 24 months ago may still be considered; a supplemental written statement of 150 words or less describing the reason for the gap is required.
- Certification as a Nurse-Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current NRP certification
- Completion of AWHONN Fetal Heart Tracing Course
- California RN and CNM (with furnishing) licensure in process through the California Board of Registered Nursing. These do not need to be finalized to apply; see below.
- Work or volunteer history with historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged groups
- Demonstrated excellence in scholarship, communication, leadership, problem resolution, and teaching
Required before your start date (not needed to apply):
- California RN and CNM (with furnishing) licensure finalized through the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration for Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5
